Uber Eats partners with the Imperial Wanderers stadium bringing a seamless transport and food experience

The debate over technology in sport has always left some for better and others for worse, however, it’s about to get easier in choosing sides. Uber Eats is excited to announce their newest and exclusive partnership with the Imperial Wanderers Stadium, specifically designed to seamlessly enhance and create an exhilarating sporting experience using the Uber Eats app.

The first of its kind partnership will see Uber Eats become the exclusive food ordering app and pick-up partner for the Imperial Wanderers Stadium. This will enable spectators to easily order food from restaurants around the stadium such as Spur Wanderers Stadium (Halaal), Olivers Fish and Chips as well as Indian Street side food and will be notified to pick up their order once their meal is ready. The partnership is designed to limit the amount of time spent in long queues, missing out on game-changing moments.

Jono Leaf-Wright, Central Gauteng Lions CEO says “As stadium management, we’ve been hard at work with the sole purpose of enhancing the fan’s stadium experience. The journey starts from the comfort of your home to the seamless stadium entrance offering, enhanced security, in-stadia experiences inclusive of entertainment, seamless food order facilities and an expanded eco-friendly product variety while offering the most affordable prices without compromising quality and service excellence. We remain committed to constantly enhancing our excellence and delivering a service and experience that all fans will want to return for.”

It’s a live match with an uber-rized update! Swap out the hotdogs for old school fish and chips or down a beer as the last few overs up the ante. There is also no need to check Twitter for score updates while struggling for parking, or standing in queues when the winning six has just been hit. Uber and Uber Eats, together with Imperial Wanderers Stadium remain committed to ensuring that a world-class experience is made available locally.

The partnership aims to create an effortless stadium experience that has never been possible from the comfort of the match attendees’ seat at the push of a button. In addition to this the stadium will have designated rider pick-up and drop-off zones to enhance safety for all those utilizing the Uber rides service. On match days, Imperial Wanderers stadium will manage traffic for smooth entry at the stadium as well as provide ushers to direct fans to their assigned seats.
