Cricket South Africa (CSA) is pleased to announce an expanded itinerary for Pakistan’s limited-overs tour to the country that will wrap up the Proteas’ international summer. 

Aiden Markram struck a valiant first Test century on foreign soil but it was not enough as the Proteas fell to a 95-run defeat to Pakistan midway through the final day of the second Test in Rawalpindi on Monday.   

George Linde’s maiden career five-for followed by one of South Africa’s best batting performances of their tour to Pakistan thus far helped them reach stumps on day four of the second Test in an encouraging position in Rawalpindi on Sunday.  

Keshav Maharaj lead a bright start to the second Test for the Proteas before Pakistan hit back to end a rain-hit day one strongly in Rawalpindi on Thursday. The Proteas failed to build on their fighting day three exploits with the bat and instead folded cheaply on day four of the first Test against Pakistan as debutant Nauman Ali claimed five wickets to bowl the hosts to a seven-wicket win at the National Stadium in Karachi on Friday.

Kagiso Rabada became the eighth South African to claim 200 Test wickets on an improved day three of the first Test against Pakistan, although late wickets tipped the scales strongly in favour of the hosts in Karachi on Thursday. 

South Africa experienced a tough day at the office on day two of the first Test against Pakistan after Fawad Alam’s century left them chasing the game at the National Stadium in Karachi on Wednesday.  

South Africa’s return to Pakistan to play Test cricket for the first time in 14 years was a mixed one after they disappointed with the bat but then impressed with the ball to end day one with honours even in Karachi on Tuesday. 

Heinrich Klaasen will captain the Proteas’ T20 squad in the three-match series against Pakistan in Lahore from 11-14 February 2021.  He will lead the national team for the first time.
